CBG for Pets

Overview

What is CBG?

Cannabigerol (CBG) is derived from new hemp plant varieties grown on our farm in Longmont, CO that produce high amounts of CBG. We grow a unique strain of CBG on the farm without the use of any pesticides, herbicides, or fungicides.
All of our hemp plants are irrigated from an aquaponic pond that captures glacial meltwater from the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. We practice low intervention or regenerative farming with respect to the plants and the environment in which we grow.

CBG has been shown to interact with both CB1 and CB2 receptors in the body, making it a therapeutic that can alleviate the psychotropic effects of THC and promote healthy inflammatory responses in the body. Studies have shown that CBG can enhance the body’s immune response and supports normal bowel function. Pets experiencing issues regarding gastric upset or irritable bowel can use CBG as a natural remedy.

We believe in using whole-plant hemp extracts in all of our products to promote the entourage effect or the botanical philosophy. This means that we use a full spectrum of bioactive compounds that the hemp plants produce, as opposed, to focusing on a single molecule. Our Cellular Support 500mg Hemp Extract was formulated with the help and guidance of the leading experts in cannabis in veterinary medicine, veterinary technicians, and veterinary oncologists.

More Data on CBG for Dogs & Cats

Cannabigerol (CBG) is one of the lesser-known cannabinoids found in cannabis plants. While it is less abundant than THC or CBD, CBG has been gaining attention for its potential therapeutic benefits, including those for pets. In this response, we will explore the current scientific research available on the benefits of CBG for dogs and cats.

CBG has been found to have several potential therapeutic benefits for pets, including its ability to alleviate discomfort in joints, reduce stress and balance mood, and even help with certain types of compromised immune systems.

In a 2021 study published in the journal Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research, researchers found that CBG was effective in reducing discomfort and promoting healthy inflammatory responses in mice. This is likely because CBG has been found to activate the cannabinoid receptors in the body that deals with discomfort and inflammatory signals.
CBG has also been found to have potential stress-relieving and mood-balancing effects. In a 2022 study published in Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research, researchers found that CBG was able to reduce stress-like behaviors in humans. Another study published in the same year found that CBG was able to reduce the symptoms of depression in mice.

In addition to its potential inflammatory signal response and mood-balancing benefits, CBG has also been found to have potential immune-modulating benefits. In a 2016 study published in the Frontier in Pharmacology, researchers found that CBG was able to inhibit the growth of certain types of immune-compromising cells in mice. While more research is needed to fully understand the potential immuno-modulating properties of CBG, these initial findings are promising.

When it comes to using CBG for , there are a few important things to keep in mind. First, it is important to only use high-quality, organic CBG products that have been specifically formulated for pets. Second, it is important to consult with a holistic veterinarian before giving CBG to your pet, as there may be certain dosage considerations or potential interactions with other medications your pet is taking.

While more research is needed to fully understand the potential benefits of CBG for pets, the current scientific evidence suggests that it may be a useful tool for pet owners looking to improve the health and well-being of their furry friends.
